It is not necessary to undergo general anesthesia during your surgery. Dr. Leeman has performed many facelift and neck lift surgeries under local anesthesia with sedation. If you would prefer to have general anesthesia, this remains an option.
What can I expect after the surgery and how long before I can resume normal activities after my facelift and neck lift?
The recovery time can vary from one week to several weeks, depending on the individual and the extent of the procedure. Most people are able to return to work and normal activities between 10 and 14 days after the facelift and neck lift surgery. However, some swelling and bruising may take up to three weeks to disappear completely. Please keep in mind that sun exposure should be limited. We advise against any strenuous activity for at least three weeks after facelift and neck lift surgery.
